Zion National Park First Full Day

We awoke early and relocated from the Watchman campground to the South
campground where all sites are first-come-first-serve (last night they
were full).

Our hiking started at 11:40am when the free Zion shuttle dropped us off at Weeping Rock. We went up to Observation Point (4 miles one way) first. The view was inimitable. On our way back we ventured into the Hidden Canyon for an hour worth of scrambling fun. Finally we visited the Weeping Rock which was basically a teaser trail after our 6 hours of hiking. We clocked about 12 miles in about 6.5 hours with plenty of breaks and a nice lunch at Observation Point (pictured above).

Some say he’s half man half fish, others say he’s more of a seventy/thirty split. Either way he’s a fishy bastard.
